Hi I'm so glad you made it here. 2011 is off to a great start. Take a look at this article that was written in a local paper, by Rachel Slade - a very gifted interviewer. She made me look a lot more artistic than I imagined. However, it expresses how a person at 73 years of age can enjoy and express an artistic lifestyle. The Article was published November 17, 2010 in The Williamson County Sun.

    About Dar

Dar Richardson ventured into figurative sculpture decades ago, creating caricature woodcarvings. He recently began sculpting in other media: cement, terra-cotta clay and glass. Dar enjoys drawing on imagination and visualization and he takes pleasure in the challenge of working on commissions that produce pieces to satisfy an individual's personal taste.
His work is light-hearted and whimsical. If his creations put a smile on your face, it's his best reward. His intent is to have fun and employ a sense of humor in his art and life.
Dar's work can currently be seen on the Leon County Art Trail in Jewett and in Georgetown at Stinger Studio, Forever Gardens and the Georgetown Library, as well as at his studio. He has recently exhibited at the Austin Playhouse, Austin Galleries, the Crossings, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, and Sacred Art Galleries in Austin, as well as at the Live Oak Art Center in Columbus and at Flat Creek Estates Winery in Marble Falls, Texas.
Dar is a member of the Texas Society of Sculptors (TSOS), Greater Austin Clay Artists (GACA), Texas Clay Arts Association (TCAA), Austin Visual Arts Association (AVAA) and the Georgetown Arts and Culture Board.
